Our IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments, powered by the state-of-the-art M22 Lumenis system, offer a revolutionary approach to tackling a wide range of skin concerns, providing radiant, smoother, and clearer skin. The M22 Lumenis is one of the most advanced and versatile devices available, capable of treating multiple skin conditions with precision and customisable settings to suit all skin types. From reducing pigmentation and sun damage to treating rosacea, fine lines, and acne scars, this cutting-edge technology ensures outstanding results with minimal discomfort and downtime.
The M22 Lumenis uses intense pulses of light to penetrate the skin’s surface, targeting and correcting imperfections at their source. The light energy is absorbed by pigments and blood vessels in the deeper layers of the skin, effectively breaking them down while stimulating collagen production. This process encourages natural skin regeneration and leaves your complexion looking brighter, firmer, and rejuvenated.
Comprehensive skin correction: The M22 system is designed to treat a variety of skin issues, including hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun damage, redness, broken capillaries, and acne scars. Its versatility allows for personalized treatment plans tailored to address your specific skin concerns.
Skin rejuvenation and anti-aging: By boosting collagen production, the M22 improves skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and restores a youthful glow. Over time, you’ll notice firmer, smoother, and more evenly toned skin.
Non-invasive and minimal downtime: This non-invasive treatment requires little to no recovery time. You can resume your daily activities almost immediately, making it a perfect option for those seeking effective results without the inconvenience of downtime.
This treatment is ideal for anyone looking to improve skin tone and texture, reduce signs of aging, or address specific skin concerns such as pigmentation, redness, or scars.During the treatment, the IPL device delivers controlled bursts of light energy to the targeted areas. The light is absorbed by the skin’s pigments or blood vessels, breaking them down naturally over time. This process also stimulates collagen production, which helps firm the skin and improve its overall texture and tone.
How is the treatment carried out?
A layer of chilled gel is applied to the skin to help guide the light. The light guide is placed onto the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is passed over the skin several times before moving onto the neighbouring area, and the process is repeated until the whole area is treated. Each pulse of light treats a large area of skin and so the duration of the treatment is very short. The gel is removed and the skin is moisturised then finished with SPF. During treatment protective eyewear will be provided.
Can I have IPL with other treatments?
IPL can be effective in itself but a combination of treatments could enhance results further. Other treatments which may give firmer, younger-looking skin include microdermabrasion and facial peels. Deep lines or wrinkles might also benefit from line and wrinkle smoothing or dermal fillers treatment.
How does IPL Photo Rejuvenation works?
Precise pulses of light are delivered to the area being treated via the IPL hand piece. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by the melanin (when treating pigmented lesions) damaging them.
The body’s natural processes then remove the injured tissue giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance. This light is also changed to heat energy as it reaches to the level of collagen beneath the skins surface, stimulating the production of collagen and new cells.
What can I expect from IPL treatment?
You will experience a sensation similar to a rubber band gently snapping at your skin. This sensation is very mild and easily tolerated. Afterwards, the skin may look flushed temporarily but you will be able to return to normal routines immediately.
How many treatments will I need?
You will need on average four to six treatments every four weeks. The results achieved from a course of treatments can be expected to last for possibly several years or longer, and results can be maintained by occasional single maintenance treatments.
IPL – Active Acne
Am I suitable for the treatment?
Almost everyone can be treated, apart from very dark skinned or tanned individuals or people with cystic acne. This treatment is only for people with mild to moderate acne.
If you are taking Roaccutane (an acne medication) or if you are pregnant it is best not to undergo a laser or Intense Pulsed Light treatment. Must be over 18 years old.
What should I expect after the treatment?
Immediately after treatment the skin may appear red and a warm tingling sensation may be felt. Typically the skin is cooled to ease any discomfort and cooling cream is applied.
How many treatments are necessary?
The number of treatments necessary varies from person to person, but typically 6 Intense Pulsed Light and 6 exfoliating treatments will result in a significant improvement.
Intense Pulsed Light treatments should take place fortnightly with deep exfoliation in between to keep the skin turnover with treatments; Hydrafacial , Skin peel or Microdermabrasion in between Intense Pulsed Light sessions. In addition maintaining good skin regime is really important.
